7 Coffee Places To Visit In Klang Valley (2021 Edition)

Looking for a new coffee spot to get your favourite caffeine fix around the Klang Valley area? While our country's current lockdown status prevents us from hanging out (read: dine-in) as usual, there are still options from visiting the cafes for takeaways to ordering from the comfort of your home via delivery services. Below is the list of our 2021 edition of 7 Coffee Places To Visit In Klang Valley.

Coffee Places To Visit In Klang Valley (2021 Edition)

1) Neutrals @ TTDI

The bustling TTDI neighbourhood has recently welcomed a new upstairs cafe called Neutrals. They serve coffee coming from PJ's The Roast Things and comfort-food varieties from Sunbather's Japanese Sando-style sandwiches to savoury quiches and scones. For the former, you can look forward to getting your caffeine fixes such as espresso, filter coffee, long black and smooth-tasting cold brew. The latter comes in black (brewed with single-origin Ethiopian) and white with milk or oat milk. Place your order right here.

Address: 30A, Persiaran Zaaba, Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI), 60000 Kuala Lumpur.

2) Poppy Kat @ Taman Taynton View, Cheras

Beyond the vibrant and Instagram-worthy poppy-orange interior, this cafe also housed their "mascots". Well, they are three cute rescue kittens (Mochi, Mimi and MeowMeow), to be exact. Menu-wise, they have varieties of coffee from espresso to flat white, latte and cappuccino. And for the trending Lotus Biscoff fans out there, Poppy Kat happens to serve hot and cold Biscoff Latte. They also serve breakfast sets that come with a choice of coffee or tea and others like croffles (that's croissant + waffle) and bagels. Place your order right here.

Address: 34A, Jalan Nadchatiram, Taman Tayntow View, Cheras, 56000 Kuala Lumpur.

3) Three Years Old @ Bukit Bintang, KL

This 1920s double-storey house gets a retro-modern makeover and of course, a fresh coat of paint and transforms into a cafe located behind the Swiss Garden Hotel. Three Years Old certainly looks both inviting and spacious and features a menu that is equally, well, tempting. Start your day with their range of freshly brewed coffee or get them later to counter that typical afternoon slump. And while you are at it, don't forget to try some of their bestselling cakes (among them includes Onde Onde Cake and Genmaicha Marble Buttercake). They also serve other comfort foods like sandwiches (their Tuna Avocado comes highly recommended), sourdoughs and quiches. Place your order right here.

Address: 1, Jalan Sin Chew Kee, 50150 Kuala Lumpur.

4) 源。Yuan @ Bukit Jalil

源𓈒Yuan has that homey vibe upon stepping into this Japanese-inspired cafe, complete with predominantly wooden decor and creamy-hued walls. When it comes to their menu, they offer coffee (you can find Sea Salt Latte and Sea Salt Gula Melaka Cafe Latte as well), cakes and quiches. But if you prefer something heavy and filling, they also include home-style rice dishes such as Sweet & Sour Pork, Kung Pao Chicken and Thai Style Fish. Available in set meal, you can have either one or two main dishes. Place your order right here.

Address: 20-3, Jalan Jalil 1, Bumi Bukit Jalil, Persiaran Puchong-Sungai Besi, 57000 Kuala Lumpur.

5) Drift Coffee @ Sea Park, PJ

Take a break and have a sip (at least until FMCO/MCO is lifted and we are allowed to enjoy dine-in again) at the minimalist-white cafe of Drift Coffee at PJ's thriving neighbourhood of Sea Park. Coffee lovers can look forward to the likes of the cafe's seasonal handbrew filter coffee using single-origin varieties or a cup of milky cappuccino. For an added zest of coffee, try their Black O.J. (double shot of single-origin espresso with freshly squeezed orange juice) or Thunderbolt (double of single-origin espresso with homemade lemonade). Or if you prefer something cold and refreshing, you can't go wrong with their Ice Latte or opt for the Single Origin Cold Brew White/Black. They offer some light bites too, namely French Sea Salt Brownies as well as savoury croissants and cakes. Place your order right here.

Address: No 6, Jalan SS2/3, 47300 Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

6) Iron Tongue @ Segambut, KL

The cafe's overall Scandinavian vibes are the first thing that is most attractive, with tastefully designed decor (love the black and white interior touches, particularly the 'Gram-worthy spiral staircase) dominated the space. Their coffee is no slouch either and happens to be Iron Tongue's main speciality here. They also serve various comfort foods like wraps, pancakes, sandwiches and pasta dishes.

Address: Unit 1-1, First Floor, Suria @ North Kiara, No 10, Jalan Seri Bintang, Segambut, 52100 Kuala Lumpur.

7) Kalico Coffee @ Titiwangsa, KL

A neighbourhood coffee spot located near Taman Tasik Titiwangsa, Kalico Coffee is actually a bungalow house converted into a cafe. So, it comes as no surprise that it is cosy and homey upon visiting. As for their menu, they specialise in various types of hot and iced coffee (you will find the usual long black, macchiato and flat white, just to name a few). They also include hearty offerings such as Shakshouka (an egg-based tomato dish served with assorted beans, bell peppers and bread of the day), Egg Kewpie Croissant Sandwich and the Mexican-inspired Chilli Con Carne with Harissa Chicken on Rice.
